Arsenal told to brace for the Bernabeu effect against Real Madrid – ‘Many champions have failed’

Real Madrid face a spirited Arsenal side in the second leg of their UEFA Champions League quarter-final in what would be one of their biggest tests of the season. 

After suffering a humiliating 0-3 loss in the first leg, the team from the Spanish capital knows they must produce something extraordinary to keep their European hopes alive.

As the countdown begins for the encounter, Arsenal midfielder Thomas Partey spoke to the media about the challenge ahead. 

Although his presence in the match remains uncertain following an injury against Brentford, the 31-year-old shared his thoughts on how the team is approaching the tie.

“We are professionals, and we know exactly what lies ahead,” he began saying. 

“It is an exciting moment, especially for the fans. We have to stay focused and take it one game at a time. We did not get the result we wanted against Brentford, but now all our attention is on the next match.”

Focus on mental strength

The former Atletico Madrid midfielder made it clear that Arsenal are not underestimating the task. In fact, despite the advantage from the first leg, he insists his side will be ready to play their best football. 

“We all know what we have to do. We have to go into the game with a winning mentality. 

“Every match is important to us, and we have to play with confidence, keeping the ball and finding spaces in their defence to attack.”

Furthermore, he also gave his take on the atmosphere expected at the Bernabeu. “We have played in big atmospheres before, especially here in England. 

“I don’t think it will be very different. What matters most is staying calm, keeping control of the ball, and focusing on our game.”

Injury concerns still linger for Arsenal

It must be noted that the Ghanaian midfielder had to be taken off during Arsenal’s recent match against Brentford due to some physical discomfort. 

His condition is still being monitored, and while there is hope that he will recover in time, manager Mikel Arteta has not confirmed whether Partey will be available. 

The manager, however, is optimistic and hopes to have one of his most important midfielders ready for the decisive battle in Madrid.

Arsenal may hold the advantage, but if history is anything to go by, Real Madrid at home are never out of the race.
